This week, quite a rushed post as I’m in my last week of exams and indeed have an exam in a couple of hours. However, I’d like to feature an amazing album by the Canadian Patrick Watson. Their 2006 album Close to Paradise is to me the soundtrack to an epic boat trip in the rain guided by a very unique voice (yeah, exams do this to me..).

In their (quite nice!) official website you can download two awesome tracks: Luscious Life and Giver. Hope you like it.
Oh, and I just noticed that the Wordpress update ruined my K2 layout! I’ll try to fix it when I get my free time back after this awful exam period. Sorry about that!
This week, another album from the same bag of uncontrolled strange vocals that brought you Tears of the Valedictorian
. I’m featuring the debut album from the Canadian band Wolf Parade, titled Apologies to the Queen Mary (2005). I was addicted to this album a couple of years ago and recently came back to it and got addicted all over again. It’s such a neat and unique album with some interesting lyrics and of course interesting vocals. If weird vocals are not your thing you might want to skip this one, but if you liked Tears of the Valedictorian I think you’ll also love this album!

These two video clips will give you a sampler of two amazing tracks from the album, and they are pretty cool videoclips themselves. Hope you like it.
